The union between LeMond and carbon fiber was solidified in 1986.
In 1986, Greg LeMond secured not only his first victory but also the first-ever win on a carbon fiber bicycle in the history of the sport. This triumph marked the beginning of a prolific era for the LeMond name, with continued success on bikes bearing his own brand. The ubiquity of LeMond Bikes became evident through victories at renowned races such as the Tour de France, World Championships, and the iconic Paris-Roubaix.
In 1995, LeMond Bikes formally emerged as a brand through a partnership with Trek Corp. This collaboration resulted in the creation of a line that would go on to become one of the nation’s premier road bike brands until their separation in 2008.
