  • Go to the Google Play Store if using android or the App Store if using IOS and download the Shimano E-Tube Project app. This will be the app you use to update, diagnose and customize your drivetrain. Make sure your Bluetooth and phone location are turned on before starting this process

  • Push the small button on the bottom of your DI2 display for half a second to a second and you should see a letter c flashing this is Bluetooth connection mode. If you can’t get the letter c to flash don’t worry, you can still connect your bike to the app.

  •  Open the E-Tube Project app, you will see a plus button like you can see in the image on the above. Press the plus button and it will take you to the connect screen as shown in the picture below. Once the bike is in connection mode it will show SCMT800 Which is the model number of the display. Once you press register you will be prompted to enter a pin number, on new DI2 systems the pin number is 000000. You can change this pin number later to any number you want. Once you have entered the pin number the bike will connect to the app.

  • Once the bike is connected to the E-TUBE app you will see the screen shown in the image on the left. This screen allows you to update the drivetrains firmware, Customer your drivetrains shifting and perform diagnosis and maintenance on the drivetrain. Press on the update button in the top left of the screen.

  • The update screen shown in the image on the left will show you all your connected drivetrain parts and if they need any updates. If any updates are needed it will show a red bar telling you it needs to be updated. If everything needs to be updated just press the update all button, if only one-part needs updated select the component that needs the update and select update. Make sure your phone stays next to the bike while the update installs. Once the update has been installed make sure to hit the red disconnect button to safely un-pair your bike. It is recommended to check your drivetrain for updates every 3-4 months.
