Step 1

  • Using a 2 or 2.5mm hex wrench depending on the bolt size, Remove the bolt holding the frame hatch on the bottom of the bike to make accessing the cables easier.

Step 2

  • Open the charge port cover. Using a 2mm hex wrench remove the two bolts holding the charge port in place. These are fragile bolts so be careful when loosening them. Since the bolts are so small set them aside in a safe place so they do not get lost.

Step 3

  • Once the bolts have been removed. Carefully pull the charge port out of the frame. It should slide all the way out until you see the connection, if it gets stuck or doesn’t want to move use the open hatch on the bottom of the frame to access the cables and help it move out of the frame.

Step 4

  • Once the connection is out of the frame disconnect the charge port from the bike and set it aside. This connection should just pull apart.

Step 5

  • When installing the new charge port make sure to align the two arrows on the connection. If the arrows are not aligned the connection will not go together. DO NOT FORCE IT TOGETHER.

Step 6

  • Once the charge port is connected slide the cable back into the frame. You may have to manipulate the cable to get it back into the frame. DO NOT BEND IT. Once the charge port is back in the frame reinstall the two 2mm Bolts to secure the charge port in place.

Final Steps

  • Once the charge port is installed connect your LeMond charger to make sure the bike charges. Once you make sure the bike chargers unplug the charger and turn the bike on and make sure it turns on and cycles through all the assist modes. Once the bike is working make sure to reinstall the Hatch on the bottom of the bike. Be careful when tightening the bolt as it is small and delicate. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
