LeMond’s Dutch practicality with carbon fiber innovation
While living in Europe for my racing career one of my wife and I’s joys was riding our Dutch bikes in and around town. These bikes usually emphasize comfort with large, soft seats and upright riding positions. Visibility is immediately improved, with reduced stress on the neck and shoulders. Practical, dependable, and sturdy…but heavy.
Being in the carbon fiber and composite business, there was a clear answer – carbon fiber, which is 10x stronger than steel, light, and corrosion-proof. I designed the frame as a monocoque structure using aerospace-grade carbon fiber to ensure that it is one of the lightest and strongest frames on the market.

Carbon fiber frame and components
The Dutch’s carbon fiber frame, fork, fenders, seatpost, and monocoque handlebar/stem make it one of the lightest ebikes on the market.
One button to control everything
Turn your Dutch on with the press of a button, activating the front and rear lights as well as 3 levels of electric assist.
Integrated motor and 11-speed drivetrain
A 250 watt rear hub motor powers the Dutch up to 20 mph while an 11-speed Shimano GRX drivetrain provides enough gearing to ride any terrain.
Integrated headlight
An always-on 500 lumen headlight is integrated directly into the monocoque carbon fiber handlebars offering enough power to clearly see the road ahead.
Integrated taillights
Dual 70 lumen tail lights are integrated directly into the frame providing both rear and side visibility.
Carbon fiber basket
An all carbon basket is affixed to the fork of the Dutch providing sturdy support without affecting any maneuverability when turning.
