My wife, Kathy, and I spent 14 years living in Europe for my racing career. One of our joys living in Belgium was riding our Dutch bikes in and around town. These bikes usually emphasize comfort with large, soft seats and upright riding positions. Visibility is immediately improved, with reduced stress on the neck and shoulders. Practical, dependable, and sturdy…but heavy.
After buying Kathy a popular modern, e-assist bike, we realized that weight really does matter for all riders, not just racers. We thought, “why not remake the Dutch bike into a go-everywhere, do-anything ebike built to the standards and quality of a Tour de France winning bike?
First, I needed to select the best materials, and being in the carbon fiber and composite business, there was a clear answer – carbon fiber, which is 10x stronger than steel, light, and corrosion-proof. I designed the frame as a monocoque structure using aerospace-grade carbon fiber to ensure that it is one of the lightest and strongest frames on the market.
Secondly, the other components are equally as important and all our key components also benefit from the strength and safety advantages of carbon fiber construction: stem and bar, seat post, fenders, front basket, and rear cargo rack.
Lastly, I added an e-assist motor for range and versatility.
Our Dutch can take you anywhere – far beyond the city to the hilly country if you like. Weighing in at 27 pounds, including the motor and battery, the Dutch can be lifted by anyone, whether upstairs, into the car, or onto a carrier, and if you exceed the battery range, have no fear that you can ride it home.

The Dutch’s carbon fiber frame, fork, fenders, seatpost, and monocoque handlebar/stem make it one of the lightest ebikes on the market.
A 250 watt rear hub motor powers the Dutch up to 20 mph while an 11-speed Shimano GRX drivetrain provides enough gearing to ride any terrain.
Turn your Dutch on with the press of a button, activating the front and rear lights as well as 3 levels of electric assist.
An always-on 500 lumen headlight is integrated directly into the monocoque carbon fiber handlebars offering enough power to clearly see the road ahead.
Dual 70 lumen tail lights are integrated directly into the frame providing both rear and side visibility.
An all carbon basket is affixed to the fork of the Dutch providing sturdy support without affecting any maneuverability when turning.
Over 65 years of Italian craftsmanship are put to work in this modern saddle optimized for a more upright position.
Di2 gives you instant, accurate, lightning-fast shifts at the push of a button. Even in the most extreme conditions, shifting is precise and controlled. Reduced cabling reduces maintenance issues as well.
The LeMond LC30 rim is our new carbon fiber rim developed in partnership with Munich Composites, a German aerospace components manufacturer.
The LC30 is a low weight, aerodynamic rim, made from aerospace grade carbon fiber. With an inner rim width of 21mm and outer rim width of 28mm, the LC30 rims are built for today’s modern wider tubeless tires and paired with a front hub made by TUNE, a premiere boutique component manufacture located near Germany’s Black Forest.
The LC30’s are covered by our lifetime warranty and accident replacement plan.
